Sir-Scythian Lamar Vance

Sir-Scythian came into this world with the purpose of giving and doing for others. Having fulfilled his purpose according to God’s plan, our beloved Sir-Scythian Lamar Vance entered eternal life on July 29, 2023, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 42 years. Sir-Scythian was born on January 14, 1981, to the late Irene Vance and Larry Sims.

Sir-Scythian was a resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Sir loved listening to good smooth jazz, enjoyed doing electrical work, and had a passion for cars. Sir-Scythian had a humble spirit and was a “people person.” He will be greatly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, Nero Picket; bonus siblings, Keisha Voltz,  Deon, Leontay, Leondrae, and Torion; one niece, Tatianna Vance; one great niece, Dayanna Vance; one nephew, Ondrell Vance; two great nephews, Da'Mere and Myles Vance;  five aunts, Maudine Vamper, Elizabeth Vance, Rae Abraham, Ruth White, and Sonya Turner; five uncles, George Mitchell, John, Carlray and Bill Vance, and Theron Vamper; cousins, Keturah, and Lytisha Vamper, Adrian, and Korey D. Vance, and Kwincy and Kwentin Tucker; a host of cousins and friends whom he loved dearly including special cousin, Chris Coleman, uncle, Theron Vamper, and friend, Brandon Terry, and Leon Pickett who was like a father figure to him.

Sir-Scythian was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Vance, and Larry Sims; brother, GeVarius Vance, and grandparents, Robert and Sadie Vance, James and Odessa Sims.
