Solomon White, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Age 84 years. He was born October 14, 1927 in Grace, Mississippi to Marie Trowell and Johnnie Johnson.
Mr. White served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Solomon retired from General Motors after 36 years of faithful service and was a member of UAW Local 668. He was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Solomon enjoyed and spent many days playing the piano and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Ruby S. White; two sons, Mark White, Saginaw, MI, Lester White, Grand Rapids, MI; one daughter, Kerry (Antwand) Turner, Saginaw, MI; two adopted daughters, KeAiris White, Detroit, MI; Trameris White, Saginaw, MI; nine grandchildren, MarQuisha and Markesha Jones-White, Precious White, all of Saginaw, MI, Alexa, Alleyn White both of Grand Rapids, MI, Tyrese White, Caro, MI, Anterris, Autumn and Antwand Turner Jr. all of Saginaw, MI; one great grandchild, Cordelle Gibson Jr. Saginaw, MI; godchildren, Keith Hall, Julian Payton; parents Marie Trowell and Johnny Johnson; stepmother, Mary Johnson; eight sisters, Janice Burt, Jackson, MS, Johnnie (Dr. Alvin) Smith, Knoxville, TN, Betty Martin, Doris Phipps, Marion Byrd, Effie (Robert) Gilbert all of Chattanooga, TN, Joanne Russell, Memphis, TN, Mary (Nate) Pollard, Maryland, WS; three brothers, Lawrence (Phyllis) Trowell, Chicago, IL, Otis Trowell, Kansas City, MS, James (Jean) Sharp, Houston TX; six aunts, Sarah Nix, Saginaw, MI, Frankie Barksdale, Rubie Moorer, both of Vassar, MI, Katie Richardson, Tunica, MS, Susie Miller and Earnest Cox both of Gary, IN; one uncle, Nathaniel Hall; mother-in-law, Lucy Alexander, Vassar, MI; father-in-law, Al Moore, Tunica, MS; two sisters-in-law, Diaroyce Humphrey, Flint, MI, Ruth Alexander, California, Jacquline Moore and Bessie Pearson both of Tunica, MS; brothers-in-law, Jimmie (Annette) Hall, Saginaw, MI, James Alexander, Vassar, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including four special cousins, Anna Lee Jackson, Ruth (Patrick) Moore, Betty (Wilbert) Lyles; one special nephew, James (Kindra) Alexander III.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hattie Jacobs, Mary Stanley; five brothers, Robert Perry, David Cogie, Marshall, Richard and Thornell Trowell; father-in-law, James Alexander.
