Ms. Sophia Nason took her last breath on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, with a small smile on her face, minutes after her son assured her that her children and family will be ok. She was 57 years old. She was born on Saturday, June 24, 1967, to parents, Dorothy Brown and Willie James in Chicago, Illinois.
Sophia grew up in Lansing, Michigan and attended Lansing public schools. She was a proud J. W. Sexton High School alumni and often talked (bragged) about her days running track. Sophia will always be remembered for her outgoing, fun loving, compassionate, strong and loving personality. She remained resilient throughout all the adversities she faced in life.
Sophia leaves to cherish her memory her children, sons, DaQuory (Annjellica) Nason and Arrelle Nason; daughter, Brittinee Crusoe; grandchildren, Nyaija Nason, Jaivion Gunn, Arielle Nason, Tory Crusoe, Tayden Crusoe, DaQuory Nason Jr., and Kylen Crusoe; siblings, Philomena James, Willie James, and Demetris James; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Sophia was preceded in death by her parents; Dorothy Brown and Willie James; and grandmother, Mattie Nason.
