Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Mr. Spencer Green, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence at the age of 62 years. He was born April 22, 1953 in Arlington, Tennessee to Spencer Sr. and Shirley Green.
Spencer accepted Christ in 1994 and was baptized at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board until his health failed. He retired from Stephenson & Son Roofing, and he enjoyed spending his time making people laugh, bowling, and most of all helping family and friends who needed repairs to their homes, or vehicles, cooking and making seafood salad. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Shawn Darlene Green, one son, Spencer III (Teresa) Green, Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Tiffany Chesney, Shawntrell Smith, Saginaw, Michigan, and Alesia Green, Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; eight siblings, Dianne Green, McCoy (Laura) Green, Patricia (Emmitt) Jones, Fanny Pierson, Robert Bernard (Tammy) Green, Darliane (Spencer) Blackmon, Donna (Demaret) Bailey, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Kenny Lenoir, Atlanta, Georgia; two uncles, Robert Hayes, Saginaw, Michigan, and Harvey (Val) King; five aunts, Abby Lee Smith, Faye Hardwick, Eva King, Mary Wright, and Beverly Willis; one great-aunt, Beatrice Rockette, Buffalo, New York; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Prince, Dallas, Georgia and Paulette Hilliard, Detroit, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Gaffney Hilliard, Battle Creek, Michigan and Donald (Katrina) Hilliard, Covington, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a special friend, Roy Martin.
Spencer was predeceased by his parents, Spencer Sr. (Shirley) Green, one brother, Rev. James Hester, granddaughter, Lauren Ginn, mother and father-in-law, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and several aunts, uncles, and friends.
