Our dear Stacy transitioned to eternal rest on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her home in Saginaw, MI. Stacy Lavonne Davis was born on April 8, 1968, in Saginaw, MI, to Janet (Taylor) Pruitt and Ronald Davis. She was a proud Lumberjack, graduating in 1986 from Arthur Hill High School.
Stacy attended Saginaw Valley State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in social work. Her passion for wanting to help others succeed was demonstrated in her various roles in the criminal justice system. She had been employed in Saginaw County for 24 years and presently served as the 70th District Court Probation Director.
Stacy has been a proud member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church her entire life. She participated in various ministries, including working in the nursery, singing in the choir, and attending to the needs of her church family by serving as a member of Heavenly Hands. One of her greatest joys was serving in the Greeters’ Ministry with her loving husband, Reggie, and youngest son, Braylon.
Stacy was an advocate for many. She served on the board of directors for Restoration Community Outreach (RCO) and was a graduate of the Saginaw Valley African American Leadership Training Institute (SVAALTI).
Stacy’s service to her community was expanded on June 12, 2016, when she was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Eta Upsilon Omega Chapter. She was a dedicated and faithful member, who served in various leadership roles, including Chairman of Hospitality, Hats Off to Mom-Vendors, Fundraising Committee, and Co-Chairman of the Ivylette Youth Group. She was a true example of sisterhood, friendship, and mentorship. She always found a way to encourage and uplift others. In 2023, she received the chapter’s highest recognition, Soror of the Year, an award for outstanding achievement and participation in the sorority and surrounding community.
Stacy valued the presence of family and friends, and enjoyed sitting on her patio, singing Karaoke, traveling, and shopping online (for everyone.) She was the glue that kept us all together.
Stacy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Reginald Diggs, on July 8, 2006, he survives her. She was a loving mother to Jimmie Davis, San Antonio, TX, Gabreille Hughes, Columbus, OH, and Braylon Diggs, Saginaw, MI; and an amazing grandmother to Jordyn and Jimmie Davis Jr. and Bailee Davis. She is also survived by her #1 girl, her mother, Janet Pruitt, two devoted brothers; Vincent Davis, and Sam Pruitt II, a sister-in-love, Constance Diggs, Rochester Hills, MI, Godchildren, Toraya Allen and Toriano “Champ” Allen Jr., Drashonna Keels, and Channing Tatum; four aunts, Sylvia and Charla Taylor, New Orleans, LA, Gladys Craion, and Barbara McCloud, Saginaw, MI; one uncle, Carl Taylor, Dayton, OH; special friends, Ann Marie Arceneaux, Tina Foster, Dolores Mixon, Sandra Fay Sanders, William Carter, Charles H.
