Steven L. Jackson (Decatur, Ga)

Steven Lee Lecraig Jackson, Jr. made his transition on Monday, August 3, 2020 in his hometown of Lansing, Michigan at the age of 31 years. He was born to parents Steven Jackson, Sr. and Loleta Townsend.

Steven received his formal education through the Lansing School District, where he received his diploma from Everett High School in 2008. He continued his education at Lansing Community College receiving an Associates Degree. Steven relocated to Decatur, Georgia where he received his CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). He was employed as a supervisor at Forward Air which is a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American Airline Freight, Inc.

Steven’s greatest passion was the art of dancing. He loved to teach and choreograph. Before he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, he performed and choregraphed for DANCE Lansing and Impulse Dance on many occasions. Both were opportunities that allowed audiences to appreciate modern and contemporary dance, by enriching performance and development opportunities for area choreographers and dancers. Steven was also a professional model. His creativity, kindness, and talents were gifts to the world. He was a very charismatic person with a heart of gold, and he had a smile that would melt your heart. Among his many talents he also was a fashion guru and was working on creating his own clothing line. Steven and his mother were founding members of Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ in Holt, Michigan. He also often attended Reachout Christian Center Church in Lansing, Michigan. Steven will be sorely missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents father Steven (Tanya) Jackson, Sr.; special extended mother, Miranda Faye Burton-Hinton; three sisters, Tiara Townsend, Miara Jackson, Tasharra Aikens; six brothers, Brandon Scott, DeQuan Townsend, Marcus Jackson, Darien Jackson, Marshaun Jackson, Brandon Jackson; uncles, Lionel Townsend, Michael Chappell; aunts, Charlesetta Kelson, Shari (Jay) Townsley, Margaret (John) Wallace, LaMonica Townsend; special cousin, Matt Brown; best friend, Ira “Duga” Johnson; many other relatives including aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special cousin they affectionately call, Aunt Debbie Nelson; special uncle and aunt Bishop Aaron I. Milton and First Elect Lady Virgie Milton.

He was preceded in death by his mother Loleta Townsend; brother, Marcus Jackson; paternal grandparents, James Albert and Clementine Jackson, maternal grandmother, Mandie Townsend, aunt, Laurie Townsend; uncles; Bobby Jackson, Rickey Jackson; nephew, Malakye Smith-Townsend; special aunt, Geraldine Nelson (Aunt Jet).
