Ms. Tameka Janay Boyd passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 34 years. She was born January 3, 1990, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Linda Boyd-Lawson and Kenneth Ray Lawson.


Tameka, a wonderful mother, daughter, and friend, resided in Saginaw, Michigan, where she was employed by Great Lakes Bay Health Center at the Janes Avenue location. She was a graduate of Delta College. Tameka enjoyed taking vacations and spending time with her son. She also enjoyed skating, having her mom spend the night so they could binge-watch reality shows, and spending time with friends. Tameka’s favorite pastimes included watching scary movies, decorating her new house, and cooking on the grill. When she was younger, she loved playing tennis and basketball with her dad.


Wonderful memories will forever be cherished by her son, Nicholas R. Jimenez, Saginaw, Michigan; her mother and father, Linda Boyd-Lawson and Kenneth Lawson; grandmother, Pearlie Mae Lawson; sister, Kenisha Rashon Lawson; brothers, Brandon, Kenneth II, and Torre Lawson; three nieces, Aija Pierson, Journie Clark and Aniya Lawson; five nephews, Jalen, Jordan, and Larenz Pierson, Ja’Marion and Amari Lawson; aunts, Bobby Vance, Judy Kraft, Joyce Terrell, Angela and Tammy Cotton, and Tina Moria Chantaca; great-aunts, Bobby (Willie) Haynes, and Shirley Phillips; four uncles, Leon, Renny, and Johnnie Cotton Jr., and Tony Duane Chantaca;great-uncle, William (Kristy) Phillips; cousins, Latoya Cotton, Sederick McGhee, Carlos Terrell, Deron Cotton, Kwenji Vance, Corion Adams, Denishreon Washington, and Latasha Terrell; her godmothers, Donna Wright, and Victoria Guster-Hines; many other relatives and friends including TraVanda Thomas, Maranda Thomas, Raven Williamson, Amina Madden, Julie Gale, Marco Munoz, The entire Front Desk Staff at Great Lakes Bay Health Center (Janes Avenue); Tokesha Harry, and Kenya Triplett.


Tameka was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosie Mae Cotton, great-grandmother, Betty Elizabeth Lawson, great-grandfather, Jay B. Lawson, great-aunt, Margaret Jean Phillips, and special nephew, DeQuan Lee.
