Tanika Laury

TaNika LeShawn Laury departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 28 years. She was born September 12, 1986 in Saginaw, Michigan to LaShonta Laury.
TaNika was a resident of Flint, Michigan. She attended Arthur Hill High School then later attended Mackinaw Academy where she received her GED. TaNika loved her family and she loved spending time with her children, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed making people laugh and being the life of the party. TaNika loved fashion, music, cooking and taking pictures. TaNika was a very caring person who always helped others in need. Her beautiful, wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, TaNiyah and Jamiah Evans; two sons, Deonte Jr. and TayShaun Wilson; her fiance', Deonte Wilson Sr.; mother, LaShonta Laury; grandparents, Dorothy Heart, David Smith and Ann Brown; two sisters, Shavonna Laury and Ashley Barnes; two brothers, Darryl Brown Jr. and James D. Sanders; two god-sisters, Amanda and Alisha Barnes; three nieces, Camyrah Laury, Aurie Brown and LaNiah Oliver; three nephews, Jomarion Upchurch, DeAngelo Brown and Aurien Brown Jr.; aunts, Ora Black and Davora (Barry) Renfro, Julia Smith, Felicia Williams, Dione Barrett, Tanya and Angie Heart; her favorite great-aunts, Jacqueline (Lorenzo) Jacocks, Addie Laury, Ella and Tracey Smith; uncles, Kenyatta (Erica) Carr, Cordelfo (Lena) Howard, David (Layla) Davis, Tamar Heart and Arthur Black; several cousins including her very close cousins, Leonard Batts, DArtangnan Williams, Dionte, Devon and Marquez Laury; mother and father-in-law, Monique Wilson and Deon Savage; two sisters-in-law, Clarissa Sanders and Latoya Oliver; one brother-in-law, Aurien Brown; her daughters father, Marqurst Evans; many other relatives and friends including her childhood friend, Andre McKnight and special friends, Tiffiane Evans, TaKais Brown, Ms. Mary Babers, SyReeta Taylor and Barbara Lynn Evans.
TaNika was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Jimmie Lee Laury and Ellen Smith, one aunt, Earnestine Laury, one cousin, Kizzy Laury, Dena Smith and Robert Smith Sr., other relatives including Ms. Velmatine Evans who was like a grandmother to her.
