TaShyla A. Dear (Lansing)

TaShyla Ann Dear departed her earthly home peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, January 11, 2025. She was born on Sunday, December 9, 1979, to the union of Helbert and Ruthie Dear in Lansing, Michigan.  

TaShyla was educated in the Lansing Public School system. She attended Lewton Elementary School, Dwight Rich Middle School and Eastern High School. She then attended and graduated from Davenport Community College. She was employed with GC Services and the State of Michigan Department of Treasury.  

TaShyla was a devoted mother of three children: Helbert Dear, DeAndre Mills and Ahjanae Mills, and her one and only granddaughter, Royalty Yvonne Mills, all of Lansing, Michigan. She also had many hobbies; dancing, telling jokes, cooking and eating, pampering herself with self-care and her favorite, spending time with her family and friends.  

TaShyla leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Ahjanae Mills; sons, Helbert Dear and DeAndre Mills; stepchildren, Laporsha Allen and Kiara Allen; granddaughter, Royalty Yvonne Mills; parents, Helbert and Ruthie Dear; grandparents, Hannah Burton and Robert (Shirley) Candies; sisters, Lesia Hemphill, Thelma (Mike) Wiley, Letkecha (Coupe) Allen, Souci (Thomas) White, Sheletha Dear, and Tania Mills; brother, Curtis Williams; 12 nieces, 15 nephews, 9 aunts, 9 uncles, many cousins; godchildren, Da’Shyla Hollis, Nicole Flowers, Daylon, Dorian, Journee, Kymani and Rayven; other relatives and friends including her very special loving friend, Nick Jones; and special friends, Tania, Tenai, Danill, Josephine, Autumn, Mallory, Rachel, Keyon, Christopher, and Ernie. 

TaShyla’s Family would like to offer the highest special thanks to her closest sister friends, Josephine, Danni and Christina for the love and support they gave to her family. Your labor of love was not in vain.
