Tassie Ruth Sian York

Tassie (Ruth Sian) York, was born on February 15th, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Mary Jane Partlow and Joseph Sian, passed away in peace on August 3rd, 2024, at Covenant Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. The Eversight organization honorably received her corneas. 

 Tassie looked forward to getting prettied up for the next adventure, her favorite being testing her luck at the casino, spending quality time speaking with family while drinking her coffee (cowpea), or going rummage sailing (rummin’).

 She was a sassy, silly, loving mother, grandmother, oldest sister, best friend, and so much more. Tassie is survived by her daughter, Shanti Hickey; siblings Judy McKay, Patrica Karas, Glenda Towels, Edward Sian, Melanie Hewett, Richard and Dennis Sian; her grandchildren Austin James Sylvester, James Westergard (Baby Jimmy), and “the baby”, Victoria (Gracie) McKinney. 

She joined her predeceased family consisting of her eldest daughter, Holly Sue McKinney and son, James Caspar York; her granddaughter Schuyler Hannah Hickey; and siblings Joseph (Peter) and David Sian, and Mary Jo Kochalka.

 Cremation has taken place thru the Paradise Funeral Home. As she disliked funerals, there will not be one taking place. Rather, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
