Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend, Tavonna Garrett-Smith, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Tavonna was born July 23, 1972, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Walter and Mary Garrett.
Tavonna leaves to cherish her memory three sons, DeMartez (Mor’jorie), and DeMarion Couch, and Taivion Garrett and one daughter, Shannon Davis-Garrett, all of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Tina (Steven) Woolery, Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Rayvonda Garrett, Lansing, Michigan; one brother, Walter Robert Garrett. III, Saginaw, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Kentez, Kenzayia, Karmelo, and Kai’son Couch, Kennis, Kennidie, and Kaden Montgomery, Marcia Garrett, Alexandria Lawrence, and De’Mari Alford; two nieces, Sherquandra Garrett, Tacarra Tswago; four nephews, Gregg Tswago, Steven Woolery, Jr., Anthony Miller, Jr., and Antwon Miller; one godson, DeAiris West; two goddaughters, Alianna Martinez, and Zhione Barabino; special family members, aunt, Dorothy Scott; cousins, Zanita Johnson, Zacorya Smith, Cory’L Smith; special friends, Aliscia Martinez, Cassandra Garrett-Hicks, Rosemary Dugan, Christell Lee, Shalita Boutte, Rosalyn Barabino; uncles, cousins, and friends.
Tavonna was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Garrett; father, Walter Robert Garrett, Jr.; grandmothers, Mary Dell Johnson, and Annie Pearl Carter; grandfather, Walter Robert Garrett, Sr.; uncles, cousins, and friends.
