Tennie L. Cowley (Lansing)

Mrs. Tennie Cowley passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 76 years. She was born January 8, 1942 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to her parents, Samuel Dodd and Carrie Griffin, the oldest of 12 children.

Tennie was a caring and God-fearing woman who loved people. She would help anyone she could and took great joy in it. Tennie loved to care for her family. Tennie spent many years as a caregiver at Provincial House Health Center. She also worked at Quality Dairy and Volunteers of America. Tennie was an awesome cook whose talents were unmatched.

She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Terri Wilson of New Jersey, Desnal Vickers Fouyolle, Nadine (Leroy) Thurman and (adopted) Tieyshia Vickers; two sons, Antonious Vickers, Sr. and (adopted) Antonious Vickers, Jr.; mother Carrie Hicks; three sisters, Alice Glover, Beverly Hicks and Donna (Terry) Wray; four brothers, Bobby (Linda) Dodd, Freddy Hicks, Robert Hicks and Bruce Hicks; many grandchild, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Tracie McElwee; son, Wade Keith Moore; grandson, Earljuan Dodd; grandmother, Leora Moore Attwood; three sisters, Katie Roberts, Delores White, and Vivian Bowers as well as her husband, OC Bowers; brother, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Hicks; son-in-law, Keith Pullium.
