Terence Yamate (Holt)

Mr. Terence Edward Yamate “Terry” passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 59 years. He was born June 11, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Jun and Florence Yamate.

Terry was born and raised in Chicago. It was there he met his first wife, Cindy, and had two wonderful children, Amber and Jason. He found his way to Michigan to visit a dear friend, Matt, who has since passed.

He met Christy shortly after arriving in Michigan, and they have been together ever since. Together they raised three boys, Nate, Nick, and Noah. The family enjoyed many camping trips over the years.

Terry spent his free time with a hook in the water, waiting for the “Big One”. During the colder months he enjoyed watching his nature shows and cuddling up with his cat, Baby Girl.

He leaves to cherish his memory, partner in life, Christy Cary; daughter, Amber Yamate; son, Jason Yamate; bonus sons, Nate Cary, Nick Cary, and Noah Cary; grandchildren, Tiffany of Chicago, Illinois, and Kailee; mother, Florence Yamate; grandmother, Norma Hamilton; sisters, Tammy and Pammy; brother, Rocky Yamate; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Jun Yamate.
