Terry Dawkins

On Saturday, September 5, 2015 Mr. Terry Dawkins Sr. peacefully made his transition to eternal rest at the age of 62 years. He was born March 25, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to Clyde and Lillie Mae Dawkins.
Terry was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a 1971 graduate of Arthur Hill Technical High School. Terry was a faithful member of Candlelight Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jimmie Simington where he sang in the Male Chorus. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching games on TV. Terry enjoyed music, collecting model cars and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved dogs, Mugzy and Chico. Terry was a loving family man who had a contagious laugh. His wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy his devoted wife, Debra Dawkins; one daughter, Travona Lashe` Dawkins (Joshua Davis); one son, Terry Jr. (Victoria) Dawkins; grandchildren, Joshua Davis Jr., Ariyanna Davis, Jordan Davis, Tony (Vanessa) Moten and Justin Moten; great-grandchildren, Calli, Chloe and Cyrie Moten; mother, Lillie Mae Dawkins; one sister, Margret (Louis Sr.) McGee; one brother, Donzell Dawkins Sr.; four nieces, Linda Dawkins, Demarias Jackson, Tonya Andrews, Liltasha Whitehead and Felicia Dawkins; four nephews, Terry Harris, Anthony Culpepper, Donzell Dawkins Jr. and Andrae Dawkins; two special cousins, Josie and Lola; two sisters-in-law, Janice Blackmon and Renee Brown; three brothers-in-law, Pat Henderson, Robert and Louis Brown; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, Micah Biggins, Jerome Buckley, Eddie Bandy and Steve Carruth.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Dawkins, three brothers, Tommy, JC and Larry Dawkins, one great-grandson, Cameron Moten, one sister, Carriette Whitehead, two nephews, Louis McGee and Gregory Whitehead.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Samuel Shaheen and his team of doctors, the staff of St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center and everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
