Terry Kimbro (Lansing)

June 6, 1962 — August 21, 2021

Mr. Terry Kimbro went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at his wife’s home in Lansing, Michigan. Age 59 years. He was born June 6, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee to James Louis Kimbro and Cecil Marie Hampton.

Terry lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Lansing, Michigan. He confessed Christ at an early age and was rededicated April 25, 2021. He attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Kingdom Ministries of Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from Job Corp in Grand Rapids with a GED November 8, 1984. Terry was dependable, helped everyone, offered excellent advice, enjoyed watching sports and took very proud and passionate of his lawn care business. He worked on cars and enjoyed painting, as it was his passion. He was a “Jack of all Trades.” Terry was a loving husband as well as father. Anytime you raise someone else’s children says a lot! Blessed! Terry didn’t believe in stepchildren! In Terry’s eyes you were his daughter or son – it didn’t matter. Terry didn’t miss any parent teacher meetings, any games, after school practices, call backs, photo shoots, etc. Whatever all of our children had going on he was there to support whatever our children were doing. You could tell Terry what your vision was, and he would bring it to pass! Terry was a “Natural Born Leader!” Terry wasn’t afraid of a challenge! If he didn’t know how to do it, you can bet your bottom dollar that he would keep at it until he figured it out! Terry didn’t deal with any sort of drama at all! Terry got along well with others. Terry accepted you for who you are. Terry would say “Okay” and keep it moving. Also, heaven forbid if you split a pole in front of Terry! To so many Terry was known as “Big Daddy”. But to me, he was always known as “My Darling Brown Eyes!”

He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Aretha Ray-Kimbro, Lansing; 2 daughters, Tammy Wilkerson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Anna Elizabeth Nicole Kimbro-Charles (Trevor), of Grand Rapids, Michigan, son, Terry (Arlesia) Kimbro, Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan; step-children, Talisha Coleman-Paterson (Aubrey) of Plano, Texas, Shawn Scott of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Duane (Malika) Scott of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Angel Brooks, and Arianna Ray both of Lansing, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Kentayveon Gonzales, Sincere Gonzales, Kamryn Evans, Nova Evans all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 3 sisters, Sonya Hampton, Annette Grey, DeNanzel (Haven) White; 1 brother, William (Denise) Kimbro; 4 nieces, Ginga, Michaela, Melody, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Sharvara of Flint, Michigan; 2 nephews, Antoine (Keisha) Hampton, Dwight II; one aunt, Aunt Callie; sister-in-law, Charisse (Emara) Burns of Flint, Michigan, special friend, D'Marie Princess Kimbro-Strain; and many other relatives and friends.
