Teveldia Davis Lyle 'Lady T'

Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, godmother, aunt and friend, TeVeldia Davis Lyle Lady T, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 12:59 a.m., at the age of 55 years. She was born May 28, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Grover Lee Davis, Jr. and Berta L. Sweetie Davis.
TeVeldia was a member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Vincent D. McMillon. She was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Roosevelt Mosley, Sr. She was a member of the Childrens Choir and later the Young Adult Choir. She was a woman of class who was well known for her beautiful hats and stylish flair. TeVeldia enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching soap operas and baseball; she was an avid roller skater. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, often cooking and sharing food with whoever came to her home. As a little girl, instead of being outside playing with the other children, she was often in the kitchen with her mother, which led from being mothers little kitchen helper to the familys Head Chef and Caterer. Other hobbies also included knitting, crocheting, and sports, volleyball being her favorite and playing the computer game Bejeweled.
TeVeldia was affectionately known as Lady T she was internationally known as Secret Agent from the KEE1686 base station (CB-Citizen Band). She was a member of the Berta Davis Youth Court #53, Berta Davis Young Chapter #196, and Queen Deborah Chapter #110 of International Free and Accepted Modern Masons and Order of the Eastern Stars; she served as Treasurer of Queen Deborah #110 where she also mastered all points of the Star.
TeVeldia attended Jessie Loomis Elementary School where she was an all A student and participated in dance recitals and playing the recorder. She continued her education at Trinity Lutheran School of Saginaw, Saint Marys Cathedral High School and COC (Career Opportunity Center) where she studied culinary; TeVeldia was a graduate of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, Class of 1978. She received her Medical Assistant Degree from Ross Medical Education Center. TeVeldia was a loving person whose wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
TeVeldia leaves to cherish her precious memory her mother, Berta L. Sweetie Davis; two sons, Anthony L. Bossman Lyle, Jr. and Javaris M. Lyle; two brothers and two sisters, Alga L.J. Smith, Marquietta Davis, Yolanda (Eugene) McGee, and Grover Lee Davis III, all of Saginaw Michigan; one godsister, Michele Brown (Jos) Douglas, Grand Rapids Michigan; five grandchildren, Kerriona Smith, Hezekiah J. Brewer, Santino L. Becerril, JaeLynn M. Becerril, and Alexandria J. Murphy; one aunt, Juanita Smith, Saginaw Michigan; seven nephews, Zephaniah E. Davis, Minister Thurman (Brandy) Stanton II (these two and her sons were known as Madears Fabulous Four); Sergio Thomas, Alga Smith III, Anquonn Smith, Reed Ervin Smith, Elijah Cooper and Grover Lee Davis IV, which she raised; three nieces, Felecia Thomas, TanGena Davis McGee and Sandrana Cooper Davis; her companion, Bruce A. Bailey and the father of her children, Anthony L. Lyle, Sr.; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Tracy Ellis, Dorothy Wilburn, Bill Morgan, and Spencer Scott; two very special friends, Leslie McCaley Breggins, Tallahassee, Florida and Alicia Wadley of Saginaw, Michigan; a very special cousin, Larry L. Whiting of Saginaw, Michigan.
TeVeldia was preceded in death by her father, Grover Lee Davis, Jr., one brother, Reed E. Smith, her maternal grandmother, Judy Ann Douglas Harris, and paternal grandfather, Grover Lee Davis, Sr. and many other uncles, aunts, and relatives.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who offered kind words, prayers and condolences.
