Our beloved sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Thelma Lee Haynes went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison with her family by her side. Age 65 years. Thelma was born April 3, 1948 in Shaw, Mississippi to Lula Mae and Harrison Haynes Jr.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Saginaw, Michigan. She later joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Burt, Michigan and worked with the kitchen committee. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School Class of 1966. After decades of working in the culinary business at K-Mart and Fire Mountain, she retired in 2010. Affectionately known as ?Baby Sister? and ?Duce,? she enjoyed many hobbies including traveling on casino outings and watching sports. She loved being with her family and serving as secretary of the Haynes Family Reunion. Always nurturing her nieces and nephews, she was also a faithful caregiver to her brothers and cousins throughout their illnesses. Her presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory three brothers, Walter (Annie Pearl) Haynes, Willie (Bobby) Haynes and LJ Haynes; one sister, Velma L. Hall; one aunt, Earline Haynes, all of Saginaw, Michigan; her godson, Darrel Jackson; many dear nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including her close friends, Vera Jones, Winnie Felton, Dena Carruth, Charlene Youngblood and co-workers from K-Mart and Fire Mountain.
She was predeceased by both parents, Lula Mae and Harrison Haynes Jr., two sisters, Margaret and Odessa Sue, four brothers, Joseph, Eddie, LC and Arthur Haynes.
