Theodis Turner passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at his residence. Age 65 years. He was born July 13, 1946 in Panola, Alabama to Willie Lee and Jimmie Lee Turner Sr. Theodis moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1951. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1964. Theodis was his family's "go to" handyman. He never met a stranger, always opening his heart and extending his hand in friendship to his fellow man. He loved his family and friends very much.
Theodis leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Thea Burress, Tara Velez, LaToria Thompson, Tawana Thompson; three sons, Kente Ryans, Kevin Dawkins, Billy Thompson; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; parents, Jimmie Lee and Willie Lee Turner Sr.; three sisters, Cleodis (Johnnie Sr.) Blair, Mary McGowan, Odessa (Don) Steward; three brothers, Jimmie Jr. (Kate) Turner , Donald Sr. (Sandra) Turner, Larry Turner; two aunts, Leotis Washington, Mattie Lee Williams; his companion, Cora Thompson; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Greg Nickelberry, Curley Taylor, Willie Haynes and Charles Allen.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Chante Little; brother, Nathaniel Turner; nephew, Damien Steward, grandparents, three uncles, five aunts.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many comforting messages, prayers, flowers, and any other expressions of kindness and concern evident at this time on thought and deed.
