Theodore B. Manko (Lansing)

It's with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my husband of 58 years, Ted Manko.

Mr. Theodore Bruce Manko passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, December 22, 2022, peacefully at home in Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 77 years old. He was born August 19, 1945, to parents, Joseph and Josephine Manko in Czechoslovakia. He came to America when he was 5 years old.

Residing in Lansing, Michigan, Ted was a member of St. Gerard Church. He graduated from Everett High School in 1963. He was an accomplished pool player, winning multiple tournaments and awards. Ted retired from General Motors after a 37-year career, working in the Salvage Department. He was awarded for saving GM over $1 million dollars by reworking scrap and repair parts.

Ted leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Joan; children, Lisa Manko of Williamston, Michigan; Ted (Bobbie) Manko of Okemos, Michigan and Joe (Michelle) Manko of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Noelle and Nathan Manko of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Mike Manko of Florida; sister, Elizabeth Wilcox of Lansing; sister-in-law, Elaine (Dave) Wyckoff; niece/nephew, Liz (Eric) Deichmann, Angela Poe, Colleen (Scott) Miller, and Tom Wyckoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Manko; and brother, Bruno Manko.
