Thomas Costello (Lansing)

September 1, 1951 — August 8, 2021

Mr. Thomas Costello passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 69 years. He was born September 1, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York to Roberta O’Rourke.

Thomas lived in Lansing, Michigan, with his roommate, John McCune. He enjoyed going to the casino as often as he could, and had many hobbies, including watching TV shows and movies, playing on his computer, and talking on his CB radio. Thomas also really enjoyed listening to the Alex Jones’ Show. In his earlier years, camping and fishing were among his favorite things to do.

He had a great personality and was a big joker. Thomas was a big hustler; would buy, sell, trade anything to make extra cash. But even with that, he enjoyed the little things in life and was always grateful. He was a very tough man with a huge heart.

Thomas was an incredibly proud father and grandfather, and a BIG family guy. He was always bragging to friends and family about what a proud father he was. Thomas loved spending time with his family and enjoyed getting coffee with the boys whenever he could.

He will be greatly missed.

Thomas leaves to cherish his daughters, Fallon (Kyle) Decess of Mason, Michigan, Bobbi (Craig) Whitehead of Leslie, Michigan, and Michelle Costello of Mason, Michigan; son, Tom Costello of Laingsburg; grandchildren, Thomas Costello of Laingsburg, Michigan, Logan Costello of Laingsburg, Michigan, Allen Alward of Mason, Michigan, Emilee, Dusty, and Dave Whitehead of Leslie, Michigan, and Hannah and Andrew Telfer of Lansing, Michigan; mother, Robert O’Rourke; sisters, Jamie Hubbard and Lorie Snyder; and brothers, Shawn O’ Rourke and George Mars.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta O’Rourke.

The family would like to announce a Celebration of Life for Thomas at his son’s home on August 28, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. located at 8544 Moon Lake Drive, Laingsburg, Michigan 48848.

The Best

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come to ME.”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating.
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
