Mr. Thomas Lee Williams entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Countryside Care Center in Jackson, Michigan. Age 97 years. He was born on September 1, 1925, in Malden, Pennsylvania to his parents, Charlie and Ora Dee Williams.
Thomas also known as “Tommy”, has been a part of the Jackson Community since 1944, when he moved there. He was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church. Tommy worked for the railroad for three years and then was employed by Kelsey Hayes retiring after working there for 31 years. After his retirement, Tommy found his dream job, working at Ella Sharp Park Golf Course. He loved to golf and was well known for his golf playing across the city and state. Tommy also loved working in his yard, he had the best lawn on his block for years. He was a happy man who loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Tommy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Nancy D. Williams; son, Thomas G. (Margaret) Williams of Ohio; grandchildren, four grandsons, Darius (Karri) Harris, Christopher Kirk, Marcellus Kirk and Seline Kirk; two granddaughters, Kamari Harris and Kamari Kirk; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois, Catherine, and Mary Helen; brother, Sammie; brothers-in-law, Coleman Sudduth of Lansing, Michigan and William Bently, who came to see him all the time; sister-in-law, Christine Sudduth of Chicago, Illinois; goddaughters, Darrell Edwards and Dawn (Mike) Sulski; godson, Robert McDade; honorary godson, Little Robert McDade; many nieces including special niece, Nena Parry, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Fabian Kirk; parents; sisters, Christine, Callie, Luela May “EL”; brothers, James, Oscar and Charles.
