Thurman Laurice Mcmurren "Reese"

Mr. Thurman Laurice McMurren “Reese,” our beloved son, grandson, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin, made his transition into Heaven on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Age 53 years. Thurman was born April 30, 1968, to Gloria Ann McMurren and Michael Scarborough in Saginaw, Michigan.

Thurman graduated from Hazelwood Central in 1984 where he ran track. Thurman had many talents and running was one of them. He dreamed of being in the Olympics and would have made it had he decided to pursue it. With gifted hands he could fix just about anything, and he even invented a few things. As a child he took the motor of a remote-control car and turned it into a fan. Thurman was a gift of life. His presence had influence on everyone who crossed his path. He gave so much joy, love, and peace to his family, close friends, and loved ones. Thurman was very family-oriented and often got emotional when family all came together. Thurman was an honest man, a good and kindhearted person. Thurman, you will always be missed, and your memories will live on forever in our hearts.

Reese leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Gloria Ann Scarborough-Ray; one daughter, Mariah McMurren; two sons, Thurman McMurren Jr., and Isaiah Clark; two stepchildren, Aniesha McCullough, and Myah Brooks; grandchildren, Jaylen Isaiah McMurren, Jamil Xavier McMurren-Brooks, Honesti Lyn’Naja Ware, I’Aisha Latrice Clark; stepfather, Billy Ray; grandmother, Claudia Cooper; three sisters, Victoria Scarborough, Lisa Scarborough, and Rosiland (David) Southward; six stepsisters, Lisa, Roshanda, April, Etta, Nikki and Darlane; two brothers, Armar (Ciara) Vanzant, Torrance McMurren; five stepbrothers,  Eugene, O’Neal, Pat, Chris, and Kevin; aunts, Patricia (Clarence), Lorretta (Taylor), Mary, Marcella (Patrick), and Diabenese; uncles, Tyrone (Lisa), Earl, Noel (Pat), Antwone (Martina); many other relatives and friends including special friend, Sarah Martin.

Thurman was preceded in death by his father, Michael Scarborough; uncle, David Buck; grandfather, Quinton McMurren; and cousins, Donna Daye Hicks, Gary Webb, Elroy Thomas Sr., and Carlos Campbell.
