On August 13, 1981, Myrtle Pittman and Elton Simmons Sr., welcomed a baby girl into the world. Tia Nicol Pittman was a Saginaw resident and native. She was empathic, Afrocentric, bubbly, and full of love, life and laughter. Tia always had a smile on her face and a hug to share. Her main priorities centered on motherhood, family, education, social justice issues and cultural awareness.
Tia graduated class of 2000 from Mackinaw Academy as class President and Class Valedictorian. Although she received academic scholarships to Michigan State University and Delta College, her spirit lead her to start life in NY where she would develop the craft and worked in the field of; film & TV, music industry, marketing, fashion and many other things. True to her well-rounded and eclectic nature, Tia also has certification as a certified dental.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents Myrtle Pittman and Elton Simmons Sr., her children Amir Smith, Collin & Camille Peck. Her siblings, Qiana Pittman, Aaron (Laresha) Pittman, Tamara (Toriano) Tucker, Alonzo Simmons, Tyrone (Barbara) Simmons, Tychele Simmons and Tanesha Simmons, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tia has an extensive family and network of close friends that will also cherish her memory and celebrate her life such as her godmother Adele Johnson, god sister/brother Etoyi & Ebony Johnson, her life long friend
She was predeceased by her brother Elton Simmons Jr., her grandparents, and lastly her partner Stanley Peck.
