THE STORY OF “TIM”
He was born to Charlie and Genola Jackson on May 25, 1963, in Saginaw, Michigan. As a bow-legged toddler, he ran about the house full of energy and joy. That drive would be the hallmark of his life. Little “Timmy” developed a hustle early on in life. He ran errands for a few adults on the block and for his efforts, they would tip him. One particular client was Mrs. Jeff always kept him very busy. With seemingly hundreds of kids in the neighborhood, he was by far her favorite.
His love of music started early as well. He would listen to music and play drums on whatever box or furniture was available. Needless to say, this drove Mom nuts. If you knew Tim, he wouldn’t want this occasion to be sad or tearful. He’d rather have Earth, Wind and Fire, Maze, L.T.D. or Stevie Wonder rockin’ the room, full of his family and friends, and “passing the mic.”
After attending Arthur Hill High School, Tim followed in the footsteps of three of his older brothers, he joined the military, The U.S. Marines. He left home a skinny adventurous kid. Six weeks of boot camp later he returned confident and all muscle. He said, “If a war broke out somewhere in the world, I would be the first man on the beach.” He was honorably discharged after 6 years of service.
He adored his family and friends and had a way with kids whom he often referred to as “the little brats.” They loved him and he loved them, especially his Timmesha Mone’ and Timothy Karl II. Tim was positive, encouraging, helpful, and quite willing to laugh at himself. A seeker of spirituality and his place in the universe. He could and would spend hours talking to you about that. (Those who had an open ear to hear him). He always brought good energy whenever he was in your presence.
Tim was “hired on the spot” at Sanitary Mattress where he worked for almost 30 years. You often saw him driving around town in that delivery truck. If you needed him to do something for you, he would always show up ready to work. As dependable as time itself.
