Timothy Lamar Robinson-Bey (Lansing)

Mr. Timothy Lamar Robinson-Bey, “Tim” passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 52 years. He was born October 9, 1969, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Elmer Robinson and Helen Robinson.

Tim resided in Lansing, Michigan. He practiced religion through the Moorish Science Temple of America. Tim was a graduate of Lansing Everett High School, Class of 1987. He was a few credits away from his associate degree with plans to continue his education towards his bachelor’s degree. Tim was an avid Michigan State University Spartans fan as well as a Dallas Cowboys football fan. He was a barber and loved cutting hair, everyone’s hair. The most important thing in Tim’s life was family. He loved to get together and have fun with his family. Any day was a great day for him to BBQ and have a family get together, that was his thing. Tim had a wonderful, big smile and a huge voice. He was always the life of the party. Tim was also a protector of all his female relatives and did not apologize for it. He was a loving father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, ex-husband, and friend. Tim was a big man in stature and heart. He would give you the shirt off his back; better yet, he would spend time with you, having fun. Tim’s daughters will miss his “Hey Britt” and “Hey BooBoo” as he always greeted them. We will forever miss your great big bear hugs and big juicy forehead kisses!

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his daughters, Brittany Marie Robinson and Timia Payton Robinson; their mother and his ex-wife, Joyce Jolley; 2 stepchildren, Elisia and T.J.; grandchildren, Ari ‘Yannah, Isaiah, Ona’ Leyah, Devin, Antares, A’zrael, and Asaias; step grandchildren, X’Zavion, E’Laysia, Jayceon, Daxton; sisters, Brenda Seaton, Janice Sheffey, TeResa (Orlando) Smith, Layden Young, Arlene Robinson, Alma (Joyce) Robinson, and Melissa Robinson; brother, Jeffrey Robinson and paternal brother, Elmer (Ethel) Warren Robinson; 5 nieces, Racquel, YaShica, TeShwna, Tracee, and Jessica; 5 nephews, Christopher, Shamarie, James, Khalil, and Michael; aunt, Sally Leggions; uncles, cousins including special cousins who were more like siblings, Michelle Sheffey, Antonio Sheffey and Reggie Sheffey; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Johnell Allen-Bey and Michael Lake-El.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Robinson and Helen Sheffey Robinson Black; grandparents; sisters Pamela and Donna Robinson; paternal sisters, Cora Mae, Alma Lee, and Freda.
