Timothy Laron Allen (Lansing)

Mr. Timothy Laron Allen, Sr. passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan. Age 55 years. He was born on January 4, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan to Albert Allen and Walterine Townsend. Tim attended Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio and Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan.

At a very young age Tim entrusted his faith to the lord and was an active member of Jesus of Nazareth (COGIC) where he was also joined in Holy Matrimony to his devoted wife Valerie on September 30, 1989.

Tim was employed at General Motors, was also an independent contractor and electrician by trade. He was known as a “jack of all trades”, who could fix almost anything. He held titles from musician to mechanic and everything in between.

Tim engaged in many hobbies. He loved fishing, cooking, ministry, and cheering on his favorite team of U of M. However, no passion of his was greater than that of supporting and inspiring others – he was always a gracious and helping hand that one could count on.

Tim was a devoted husband, father, brother, son and friend. He was known as a jokester who always kept a smile on his face and was a warm and charming presence who never met a stranger.

Tim leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 33 years, Valerie Allen; four children, Ortease (Marie) Duncan, Ta’Moni (Desmond) Draper, Tosja Allen, and Timothy Allen, Jr. all of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Ortease, Jr., Ortasia, and Ore’yeal Duncan all of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters, Kathy (Tony) Howard of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jaqueline Caulk of Lansing, Michigan; two brothers, Aldrek (Denise) Allen, and Walter (Francine) Allen of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Diendre Broussaurd and Tomika (Mervin) Fleming of Swartz Creek, Michigan; three brothers-in-law, James Duncan “Money”, Reginald Duncan, and Ronald Wiley; Godfather, Willie Dillard; Goddaughter, Malinda Milton; special Aunt and Uncle Bishop Aaron and Virgie Milton; as well many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Walterine Townsend; father, Albert Allen; sister, Lurie Dean Cole; mother-in-law, Gloria Walker; father-in-law, Charlie Wiley; and nieces, Zarica Allen, Shontaye Caulk and Aujanei Wilson.
