Tina Harper (Lansing)

Mrs. Tina T. Harper passed Friday, April 30, 2021, at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. Age 51 years. She was born in Wesson, Mississippi, the daughter of Robert Lee Jointer and Ella Louise (Jointer) Carter.

Tina moved to Lansing, Michigan with her mother in 1973. She joined Solid Rock Baptist Church at a young age. Later she united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she maintained her membership until her sunset. Tina attended J. W. Sexton High School. She was very athletic participating in both basketball and track and field. Tina is a member of the 1987 graduating class of J. W. Sexton High School. She also attended Davenport College earning 2 associate's degrees and 2 bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting. Tina was currently employed by the State of Michigan in the Liquor Control Commission as a regulation specialist. She was employed for 23 years.

Tina loved to travel and had a passion for ballroom dancing. She loved to entertain especially her family gatherings. Her family was her #1 priority. Tina loved to care for others, and was always willing to take others in, including being a foster parent. She had a giving heart and was generous with all she had. Tina loved to spoil her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was loving, outspoken, driven, caring, adventurous, and God-fearing. Tina will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Tina leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Randy Harper; daughter, Tietricha (Michael II) Thomas; son, Daryl Jones (Hannah Lerma); 2 stepchildren, Patricia Harper and Randi Harper; grandchildren, MaKaiya Thomas, Michael “Trae” Thomas, III, Janiyah Ruffin, Micah Thomas, Leah Jones and Lena Jones; parents, Robert Lee Jointer, Ella Louise (Pastor Carroll) Carter; 5 sisters, Shijuana (Fredrick) Brodie, Melissa Carter, Alma (Fred) Williams, Karen (Clark) Hartwell and Annie Smith; 3 brothers, Ben Jointer (Ericka Covington), Carl (Deborah) Carter, Sr., and Robert Deon Maxwell; 4 aunts, Debra Thomas (David Charles), Linda (James) Ailes, Alice Ruth Jointer and Elaine Magee; 4 uncles, Joe (Rhonda) Glasper, George (Stephanie) Glasper, Johnny Jointer, and Albert (Mildred) Pendilton; parents-in-law, Pertis and Mattie Harper; sister-in-law, Yolanda Harper; brother-in-law, Eric Harper; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Kathy Tarpeh and Poresha Phifer.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Melissa Ruth Glasper and Alice Pearl Jointer; grandfather, James Frank; aunt, Diane Glasper and uncle, Jerry Glasper.
