Mr. Tommy V. Green, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 86 years. He was born on July 7, 1931 in Rayville, Louisiana to Tommy, Sr. and Lizzie Green.
Tommy moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1950 seeking employment with General Motors. He worked for Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of UAW Local 668. Tommy also was an active member of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He assisted the community of Saginaw in many ways. Tommy was a faithful member of Greater Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Herbert Williams and Pastor Arthur Aiken. He served as a deacon and a member of the Usher Board. Tommy loved to play pool for recreation and spend time with his family.
Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his five children, Gregory Green, Gloria Belvin, Jackie Webster, Bridgetta Hadley, and Berlynn Jackson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; one sister, Ella Mae (Emery) Aldridge, Detroit, Michigan; three brothers, Charles Green, Roy Green, and Jimmie Green; and many other relatives and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy, Sr. and Lizzie Green; children, Claudette Green, Dorothy Belvin, Tommy Green, III, Danny Green, Lannie Green, Robin Green, Victor Green, and Johnathan Green; one brother, Oscar “Dunk” Green; one sister, Flossie “Coon” Burns; two special friends, Jack Campbell, Laffette, and former wife, Diane Green.
