Mr. Tommy Washington, Jr. passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 37 years. He was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1986, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Lottie and Tommy Washington, Sr.

Tommy Jr. was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. He attended J. W. Sexton High School, where he met his high school sweetheart, Rachel Hodge. She is his forever love and the mother of 2 of his children. Tommy Jr. enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was passionate about boxing and teaching children the art of boxing. He loved to laugh and joke and was always ready to have a good time. Tommy Jr. was loved by many people, and he touched many lives. He will be truly missed. We will hold on and cherish memories of Tommy Jr. forever.

Tommy was currently employed at Tenneco, Incorporated. He had held various employment positions in the Lansing area.

He leaves to cherish his memory his forever love, Rachel Hodge; daughter Laila Washington; 3 sons, Davion Spitzley, Tommy Washington, III, and Tariq Washington; father, Tommy Washington, Sr.; sister, Tiffany Pettway; brother, Tyrell Washington; 4 special nieces, Samaria and Jazmine Pettway, Nadiaa Washington, and SaRae Rembert; 3 nephews, Eric, Jr., Elijah, and Traishon; 5 aunts, Cora Lee Robinson of Florida, Rose (Maurice) Scruggs, Ruthie (Charlie) Shaw, Bernice (Earl) Porter, and Bobbie (Roy) Williams, all of Lansing, Michigan; uncles, Reverend Tamper (Susie) Washington and Richard Pettway both of Lansing, Michigan; many cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Washington; and brother, Eric Pettway.
