Torriano Yrlas-Thomas

Mr. Torriano Joaquin Yrlas-Thomas, a beloved son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 21 years. He was born on May 15, 2003, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Victoria Yrlas and Tory Thomas.

Torriano was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 2021. He was employed at Fed-Ex. He was very persistent, goal-oriented, and willing to work hard. Torriano was admired for being friendly and compassionate, for his smile which showed his beautiful teeth, and for having a great sense of humor. Torriano loved to take nature walks with his sister, Tahlia, and go fishing with his friend, Melvin. Riding minibikes was one of Torriano’s favorite things to do. So much so that he learned how to build one. He also loved boxing and working out, spending time with his family, and especially cuddling his newborn daughter, Torriano is greatly missed by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his fiancée, Shamirah Majied, Saginaw, Michigan; one daughter, Sylah E’nise Patrice Yrlas; two sisters, Selena Allen, and Tahlia Yrlas-Thomas; two brothers, Juan Allen, and Xavier Thomas; one niece, Lauryn Hamilton; two nephews, Michael Reid Jr., and Jauane Allen; three aunts, Estella Yrlas, Delia Chang, and Margaret Yrlas; two uncles, Anthony Thomas, and Benny Gonzalez; cousins, Victor (Paige) Roman, Sophia Mosby, Christian Gonzalez, Tory, Anthony, and Robin Thomas; many other relatives and friends including Melvin Brewer, Lutherius Pearson, special boxing coach, Jay Garcia, and family friend, Adrienne Richardson.

Torriano was preceded in death by his grandparents, Victor Yrlas, Sophia Yrlas, and Julia Pringle; and uncle, Aubin Chang.
