Tracy Keno Thomas, Sr. "Kip"

Mr. Tracy Keno “Kip” Thomas passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, in Bay City, Michigan. He was born July 29, 1972, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Jimmy Green and Idella Higgins.


Tracy was a resident of Bay City, Michigan, where he remained until his passing. Tracy had done more during his life than most will in a lifetime. He traveled the world creating memories with family and friends. Tracy was a family man who opened up his home to many children and conducted his own foster home alongside his loving wife. Tracy also coached girls’ and boys’ basketball teams. A very caring man, Tracy enjoyed going to different nursing homes and visiting with the elderly and sick. He loved spending time with family, laughing, joking, and being the life of every party. Tracy was serious about mentoring young men and women as they navigated life’s challenges, preparing them for the future. Tracy’s passion was cooking; he was known as the grillmaster. Tracy’s cooking career began at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, Michigan. Subsequently, Tracy worked at some of the greatest restaurants, completing his career at Red Lobster. He loved watching sports but most of all he enjoyed spending the majority of his time with his wife and granddaughter, Zoey Marie, who was his sunshine.


He leaves to cherish many memories his devoted wife, Davonnda Thomas; seven sons, Brandon, Sam, Tracey, Eddie (Nettie), Damonttwon-Delow (Arijeta), Andrew, and Demontay; daughters, Brandi, and Amese Thomas; mother, Idella King; grandchildren, Zoey Marie, Wes, Jay, Terrance, Elijiah, and Mari; mother-in-law, Shirley Nickleberry; brothers, Rickey, Kenny, and Malcolm “Dirt;” sisters, Reginia (Bird), and Monica; brother-in-law, Melvin Jr. (Rachel); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.


Tracy was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Delishous Thomas “his Rabbit;” brothers, Louis, Michael, Anthony, and Robert; sister, Debra; father-in-law, Melvin Sr.
