Twyman Mark Burnell

Mr. Twyman Mark Burnell passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Mercy
Hospital in Traverse City, Michigan. Age 51 years. He was born on January 28,
1966 in San Bernardino, California to John Burnell and Hazel Cary Burnell.

Mark came to Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 6 years with his family as they
pursued careers in the automotive industry. He attended Saginaw Public Schools,
graduating from Saginaw High School in 1984. Mark accepted Christ at an early
age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.
P. Wilson. His present membership was with Life in Christ Ministries under the
leadership of Pastor Dennis Cotton. Mark served faithfully as an usher. He liked
spending time with family and would often call many of his cousins just to keep in
touch. Mark was frequently the life of the family get-togethers. He enjoyed fishing
and working outside. Mark developed a skill in welding and liked showing off his
work. In addition to living in Saginaw, he lived in Grand Rapids and Traverse
City, Michigan. Indicative of his love for family, Mark spoke often about seeing
his first grandchild in February 2018.

Mark leaves to cherish his memory his parents, John Burnell and Hazel Cary
Burnell; one daughter, Alana Jackson, Saginaw, Michigan; one son, Marshawn
Burnell, Atlanta, Georgia; two “special” children, Chasity Jackson and Ezekiel
Flores; two brothers, Kernan O’Ray Burnell, San Diego, California, Christopher
(Tamiko) Burnell, Ashburn, Virginia; two nieces, Demetria Rideout, Atlanta,
Georgia, Keyana Vandyke, Kenosha, Wisconsin; three nephews, Quiency Burnell, Atlanta,
Georgia, Joshua and Nicolas Burnell, Ashburn, Virginia; aunts and uncles, Mildred
Jackson, Victorville, California, Nellie M. Anderson, Keithville, Louisiana,
Rosemary (Charles) Reed, Houston, Texas, Elex (Nell) Cary, Milpitas, California,
Melvin (Sherry) Cary, Oroville, California, Rev. Grady Burnell, Victorville,
California, Mack (Iris) Burnell, Gaithersburg, Maryland, Ernest (Lorene) Burnell,
Saginaw, Michigan; many cousins, other relatives and friends, including special
friends, “Raine”, Ronald Gaddy, Darren Lindsey and special queen and friend,
Theresa Flores.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmond and Ruth Burnell, Alex
and Queen Cary; five uncles; four aunts, and many other relatives and friends.
