Tyeara Charelle Holmes (Lansing)

Ms. Tyeara Charelle “NuNu” Holmes passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 23 years. She was born June 25th 1996 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan, the daughter to Jeanettia (Danial) Green and Chappie Dean Holmes Jr. When Tyeara entered this world, she brought to our lives a breath of fresh air; she awakened newness in our home and into our hearts. Tyeara’s mom knew that she would be her last child and with all the goodness, grace and new life now in the home, her mom begins to call her “NuNu”. This name has stuck with her throughout her life so has the love and beauty that she created within others that lead her this name.

She moved to Lansing with her family at the tender age of 6 months. Tyeara attended East Lansing School District for her elementary and secondary education and in 2014 she graduated from Comstock Compass High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Tyeara was an amazing young woman who wore her heart on her sleeve, she was impatient for sure but also independent, compassionate, and charismatic, she loved hard; she was sensitive and loyal to a fault. If you had the honor and privilege of being her friend you know that she was your friend to the end.

She loved her family, she had a special ‘mother-mother’ relationship with her older sister, Makiya, they are both stubborn and as they see it, they were right and the other one was wrong but the show of love was always there. Tyeara had an unbreakable bond with her brother, De’Andre, he was her ride or die, her second heartbeat, he was peanut butter and she was jelly. It was guaranteed that if you saw one of them the other one wasn’t far away. She also had special relationships with her many cousins.

When Tyeara was younger she was an avid reader and she loved to write. I think her hobby was correcting others if they didn’t speak proper English. Well…. except this one time when she was about 7 or 8 years old, at school she met and befriended a young girl from China, who’s second language was English. Tyeara decided that she too could speak Chinese and went a month or more speaking only in Chinese, what a long, interesting month that was. Tyeara’s biggest passion was singing and songwriting. She had a beautiful, angelic voice that would touch your soul and her talent for songwriting was just as comparable. Now that you have been released you can fly on and sing my SongBird.

Holmes and Jovuan McKentry (Lansing, Michigan) and Danial J Green Jr. (Cadillac, Michigan); Paternal Grandmother, Josie Holmes (Benton Harbor, Michigan); 7 uncles, Anthony Sulton, Bobby Holmes, Billy Holmes and Jason Holmes (Benton Harbor, Michigan), Edward (Shanya) Sulton (Detroit, Michigan), Jimmy Holmes (Lansing, Michigan), Toney Holmes (Atlanta, Georgia); 9 aunts, Linda Holmes and Christine Holmes (Lansing, Michigan), Daisy (Steve) Archibald, Marie (Randy) Johnson, Lisa A. Rittmon (Benton Harbor, Michigan), Kathe Holmes and Rosia Holmes (South Bend, Indiana), Annie Holmes-Broyles (Atlanta, Georgia), and Sherrie A. She was proceeded in death by 2 sisters: Chapprenia S’Kyria Holmes and Saliyha Kay Faith Holmes; Maternal Grandparents, Edward and Essie Sulton; and Paternal Grandfather, Chappie Dean Holmes Sr.
