Valentina Fanchon Jones

Ms. Valentina Fanchon Jones passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 32 years. She was born August 1, 1989 in Saginaw to Sandra F. Stewart and Carlton L. Jones.

Valentina was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan; however, she was educated in Grand Rapids, Michigan Public Schools, receiving a General Education Equivalent (GED). Her education continued at Dorsey College in Saginaw toward obtaining certification as a Medical Assistant. Valentina accepted Jesus Christ into her life and worshiped at True Believers Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Sheila Washington. Val was employed a short time as a cafeteria worker at Heritage High School until she became disabled. Her family were her joy, especially her children. Valentina will be sorely missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.

Val leaves to cherish loving memories her fiance', Moty McKinney; daughter, Journee Blessing McKinney; son, Jamell Moty McKinney; parents, Sandra F. Stewart, Saginaw, Michigan, and Carlton L. Jones, Omaha, Nebraska; grandparents, Rosie Anderson, Clifton Stewart and Jesse J. Jones Sr., all of Saginaw; sisters, Candice N. Stewart, Temea Brewer, and Rochelle Johnson, Saginaw, Michigan; seven brothers, Dominic Jones. Lansing, Michigan, Mykal (Christina) Huell, Carlton Brewer and Akeem Brewer, Omaha, Nebraska, Jovan Pierson, Jaylen Pierson, and Dontae Jones-Key; twelve nieces, Aniyah Taylor, Kandence Hall, Sydney Woods, Alexis Brewer, Akeeli Lajoi Brewer-McCall, Kenzii Nicole Wright, Isla Chacon and Majesty Azlee Brewer-Phillips; bonus nieces, Diamonique, Skylar, Taylor and Bailey; nephews, Jeremiah Jones, Kendall Wright, Braylen Hall, and Noland Woods Jr.; aunt, Erica Stewart; uncles, Bobby Stewart and Ryan McCray of Saginaw, and Kennedy R. Jones of Texas; cousins too numerous to list; many other special relatives and friends including Dr. Veneshia McKinney-Whitson, Ann Alden, Rosalyn Reed, Jennefie and Michelle Stewart, Booshanda McCray, Ray Smith and Jeanette Joseph. 

Valentina was preceded in death by uncles, Kenneth R. Stewart and Nathaniel (Joe) Jones; grandmothers, Amy Jones and Rosiland Clark Stewart; bonus dad, Percy D. Huell, and aunt, Amy L. Jones-Spiller.
