Mrs. Verna Gay (McClain) Aimery transitioned on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Sparrow Health System, Sparrow Campus in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 81 years old . She was born on Thursday, April 30, 1942, to Alex McClain, Sr. and Annie Grace (Simmons) McClain, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Verna graduated from Muskegon High School and was employed with General Motors Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. Her favored pastime was completing crossword puzzles and listening to the Motown Sounds of music. Verna enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 38 years Micheal Ray Aimery; son, Anthony Cochran; grandchildren, Anthony Cochran Jr, Shana Rodriquez and Karmin Benson; brothers, Billy Bob (Tonya) McClain, Charles McClain, Frank (Lorraine) McClain of Hazel Green, Alabama, Ricky (Joan) McClain, and Peter McClain; sisters, Excell Daniel, Kathy (Tim) Barber, and Dorothy Rivera; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alex “Sonny” McClain Jr., James Edward McClain, George McClain, and Mark McClain; sisters, Ruby Gene Canada and Annette (McClain) Betly.
