Vernice Bowens

Vernice Bowens, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her residence. Age 83 years. Vernice Smith was born November 12, 1927 in Lyles, TN to John and Terecia Smith.
She came to Saginaw, Michigan in 1969. Mother Bowens was a member of Miracle Faith Church where she served on the Mothers Board and a faithful servant of God.
She completed her education in Lyles, TN. She enjoyed cooking, watching sports, basketball, reading the bible, listening to gospel music, and spending lots of time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters and one son, John (Monica) Smith of Antioch, TN., Ann (Donald) Moss of Dickson, TN.,
Carolyn Bowens of Midland, MI., Rose Martin, Donna and Linda Bowens all of Saginaw, MI., Robert Owens of Saginaw, MI. whom she loved as a son; grandchildren, Amon, Marlon, Anthony (Angel), Monique, Tanya, Janice, Ned, Alonzo, Quonisha, TeMonte, Robert, Sabrina, Ray Jr., Clay, Lee Jr., John Jr., Corey, Broderick, Gabble, Donald, Lee Ann, Marcus, Keisha, Terecia (Curtis) , James Jr.: 50 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine Bonds of Saginaw, MI., one brother, Thomas (Angie) Smith of Nashville, TN., three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Saginaw, MI., Juanita Harris of Columbus, OH., Mabel Jackson of Cleveland, OH.;
many other relatives and friends, including special friends, Rose Prescott, Mattie Langston, Ann Parks, Mother Thomas, Linda Box.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five children, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
