Veronica Wade (Lansing)

Ms. Veronica Wade passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Sparrow Health Systems Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 56 years. She was born February 14, 1965, in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of William Tyler and Mary Grace Wade.

Veronica and her family moved to Lansing, Michigan when she was a young child. She attended and graduated from Lansing J. W. Sexton High School. She went to Craig’s College of Beauty where she earned her beautician license. Veronica was a member of Mount Hope Church. Her hobbies were collecting dolls and photography. Veronica took pictures of her family all the time so her memories would last forever. She enjoyed all kinds of music and was a storyteller of historical events. Veronica loved to talk to anyone. She was a beautiful social butterfly and had a kind giving heart. Veronica was very optimistic and had a very creative mind. Her love and joy were overflowing.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sister, Katrina Smith (who died hours after her on the same day); five brothers, Larry James Wade, Mark Wade, William Tyler Wade, Jr., Derick Smith and Barry Williams; five nieces, Cherie Dumas, Nikeesha Salazar, Desiree Salazar, Karena Wade, and Sonya Wade; five nephews, Lowell Wade Jr., Melvin Wade, Jordan Wade, William Wade III, and James Wade; aunts and uncles, Florence Willie Mae Simpson, Lera Lee Holman, Frances Shankle, Jimmie St.Val Betty Sue Thompson, Lois Faye (Bill) Beavers, Fred Cunningham, and Roy Cunningham; many cousins including special cousins, Tammy Mickens Singleton and David Thomas, other relatives, and friends including special friends, Sylvia and Westley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Robert Lee Smith; sisters, Angela Catrice Smith and Janice Smith; brothers, Lowell Wade, Jesse Wade, Maurice Williams, and Mark Williams; grandparents, Aaron & Annie Thompson; great-grandparents, Thaddeus & Florence Crawford; five aunts, Joyce Thompson, Lilly Mae Hollaway, Mary Elizabeth Jones, JoAnn Mickens, and Ronna Kaye Douglas; uncle, James Thompson.
