Ms. Vickie L. Jones was born June 20, 1963 in West Helena, Arkansas, the daughter of Nora Jones and Earnestine Walton. She passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 56 years.
Vickie graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1981.” She worked in the healthcare field as a CNA and Home Health Aide for many years. She was a natural at caring for others and taking care of their needs.
Vickie was a member of New Generations Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, cooking and being social. Vickie truly loved her children. She was loving and a protector of everyone she loved. Her beautiful spirit and kind soul will be missed but forever cherished.
She leaves precious memories with two children, William Devon Newton Jr., J’Nicque Chiante Carter; stepmother, Joe Ann Johnson; sisters, Earnestine (Donnie) Nadorozny, Terri Williams; brother, Kevin (Roylena) Jones; stepsister, DeMuriel Thompson; nieces, Saprina Fonzo, Telila Holder, Mariah Romero, Precious Baker, Kalayia Jones; nephews, LaMario Bonds, Kevin Jones, Jr., En’Drique Walton; great-niece, Alysiana Prosser; special cousin, Cornell Jones; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Nora Jones and Earnestine Walton; bonus mom, Maggie Ann Hughes; sister, Glenda Jones; brother, Eric Walton; grandparents, Gabe and Mae Lee McDowell, Arthur and Alberta Jones.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Jack’s Fruit & Meat Market on Bay Road, First Responders, all family, friends, and co-workers who have stood by us throughout this difficult time, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
