Victoria Brown (Lansing)

November 23, 1954 — November 16, 2020

Ms. Victoria Brown passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at her residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 65 years. She was born November 25, 1951 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Isaiah and Cora Lee Brown. She grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi, but moved to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 7. Victoria attended Philips High School and left in the early 70s to reside in Lansing, Michigan for the rest of her life.

Victoria was lovingly known as “Suga”. Suga was always so full of energy and known for her “get the party started” dancing, she would willingly “dance anyone under the table”. She enjoyed fixing things, from cars to hearts. Suga’s heart was so big; she had so much love and encouragement for her children, grandchildren, and other children as well. She was “Mom” to so many people. Suga loved to take her walks so she could mingle with the animals. She loved gardening and her cooking would steal your heart. She had so much wisdom and was not afraid to point out your wrong doings with love. She loved watching Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, and her game shows; as well as playing one hand solitaire and working on her puzzles. Victoria is loved and will be missed by many.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her one and only daughter, Lucy Laveonne Brown; two sons, James C. Brown and Vernon Edward Brown; seven grandchildren, Octavia Brown, Jaquerd Brown, Demetris Rucker, Charles James, Lil Vernon Brown, Devante Brown, Alexis Brown and she would have gladly been a grandmother unto all of Lansing; fifteen great-grandchildren; four siblings, Madeline Brown, Sarah Brown, Samantha Brown, Climmie Jean; three brothers, Leroy Brown, Isaiah Brown, and Willie D. Brown

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
