Mr. Virgil Lee Hall, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 62 years old. He was the loving son of Wiley McKinney and Ruby Mitchell, born in Jackson, Michigan on Monday, October 19, 1959.
Virgil was a proud graduate of J. W. Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan. He pursued a career in Auto Mechanics following graduation and obtained skilled trades certification through General Motors. Virgil retired from General Motors after 29 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed bodybuilding and restoring old cars. On weekends it was not unusual for Virgil to be at a racetrack or underneath a car.
As a father, Virgil was a great provider. He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. Although he may not have been related, he was often referred to as “Uncle Virgil” or “Pops”. Virgil’s legacy will remain in the hearts of many and will be missed by all. He loved hats and you would rarely see him without one, Praise God that he had traded in his hat for a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, has bestowed upon him. Thanks, Pops!!
He leaves to mourn his memory, his sons, Virgil, Jr., Cornelius, and Christopher; grandchildren, Chloe, Vinnae, Kelise, Carter, and Cruz; mother, Ruby Mitchell; sisters, Kenzetta, Maria, Linda, Vanessa, Nikki, and Connie; brothers, Kenneth, Clyde, and Victor; aunts, Pastor Chris (Henry), Bertha, Donna, Pokey, Dora, and Delores; uncles, Harry (Mahalia) and George (Kathy); many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, including special friend, Jan Middlebrook.
Virgil was preceded in death by his father, Wiley McKinney; grandmother, Ruby Kendricks, and brother, Westley Faulkner.
