Mother Virginia Terry transitioned from this life to Heaven on Thursday, May 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 99 years old. She was born May 2, 1923, the daughter and third child of four children born to Emize Franklin and Mattie Atwater in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Virginia moved to Lansing, Michigan with her family where she eventually graduated from Old Central High School in 1941. She married the love of her life, Marshall Terry in 1943 and they were the parents of seven children. They also raised four more grandchildren.
Virginia loved traveling, going on cruises, and attending church. She retired from Mary Avenue Nursing Home in 1995. Virginia was loving, caring, and truly loved her family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories daughter, April Campbell Terry; 3 sons, Greg Terry, Rodney Terry, and Michael Terry; grandchildren, Tamiko Terry and Topaz Terry; great-grandchildren, Martez Simmons, Charles Simmons, Jr., Toni Fortner, Ayanna Jones; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Terry; daughter, Judy Ann Terry; sons, Ronald Terry and Douglas Terry; granddaughter, Toshia Terry-Laster; grandson, Elton Terry; great-grandson, Darius Simmons; parents, Emize Franklin and Mattie Atwater; siblings, Joseph Franklin, Mary Shanklin, and Odessa Roper.
