Our beloved father, grandfather and uncle, Walter Larry Henderson Jr., departed this earthly life on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Age 56 years. He was born August 2, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Walter and Emma Henderson.
Walter Pops enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. He loved all types of music and loved playing his harmonica. Pops was loved by everyone in the neighborhood and he loved spending time with his family and friends. His presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Dion Rogan; one step-daughter, Tamika Durr; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley and Leonard Henderson; many nieces and nephews including his special nieces, Rachel and Valerie Henderson; several cousins including a special cousin, Gregory Wilson; one sister-in-law, Gail McGee; one brother-in-law, Terry Rogan; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Ronnie Clayton, Averis Snead, LaShonda Evans, Ronnie Turner, Algerae Williams, Timothy Burch, Dave Foot, Terry Blakes, Kenny Ferguson and Catherine Durr.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Emma Henderson; one sister, Catherine Henderson Hill; one brother, Michael Henderson.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Otis Wilson for taking special care of Pops during his illness. Ms. Yvonne for just being there for our family throughout the years, we thank you so much! To Auntie Brenda Wilson-Dillard for everything you have done. A very special thanks to Ivan E. Phillips, the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel and to everyone who expressed their love and kindness during our time of bereavement. Thank you and God bless you all.
