Wesley Mitchell Hicks, Sr.

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, Mr. Wesley Mitchell Hicks, Sr. departed this life at the age of 57 years.

Wesley was born on June 7, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Raymond Lamar Hicks Sr., and Loretta (Alexander) Hicks-King. He was educated in the Saginaw public school system and received his General Education Development “GED” certification from the Ruben Daniels Community Center School. He was the proud and loving father of one son, Wesley M. Hicks, Jr. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. Wesley is greatly missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

Wesley had a passion for acquiring and maintaining classic cars. He also enjoyed sports and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He was a fun-loving jokester who could be counted on to lighten the moment with a joke or two.

He is survived by his son, Wesley Jr. (Yesenia) Hicks; four grandchildren, Anjelica and Serenity Hicks, Dominick Young, and Malaya Laury; his mother, Loretta King; siblings, Kunitha (Dedrick) Peterson, Birmingham, Alabama, Aringtor Sr. (Nina) Hicks, Canton, Michigan, Brigetta Gibbs, Summerville, South Carolina, Tanga King, Detroit, Michigan, Anthony Sr. (Denise) Hicks, Michael (Samantha) Scott, Bay City, Michigan, Raymond Jr. (Jamie) Hicks, and Derrick Hicks, Sr., Saginaw, Michigan, Susan Hicks, Midland, Michigan, Eric (Paula) George, Chris, Travis, and Todd Nicholson, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Gabriel Nicholson, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Angela Robinson, Cleveland, Ohio, and Marlon Delwon Sword, Tampa, Florida; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends, including BEST friends Leonard Arnold, Pastor Lafayette Simpson, and Daryl Currington.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Raymond Sr. (Clara) Hicks; Ted Samuel Donald, who was like a father; and stepfather, Tommy King.
