Willen Mcclindon

Mr. Willen McCLindon was born November 30, 1940 in Ruleville, Mississippi to James McClindon and Earthalean Birden. He passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. Age 79 years.

Willen’s family moved from Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois when he was a young boy. As a child, he accepted Christ and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor L. Wallace. He attended grammar, middle and high school in Chicago. He then became employed with Stouffers Food Services.

Willen was a very kind-hearted man, always willing to help those in need. He helped raise twenty-four stepchildren. That’s the type of man he was. He has left us a legacy of family and love and we are forever grateful for his presence among us for 79 years.

Willen was preceded in death by his parents, Earthalean Birden and James McClindon; grandsons, Juan E. Terry, Jr., Sylvester McClinton; brothers, Joe and Leroy McClinton; grandparents, Mary Funces, Joe Jones; eight stepchildren that passed at birth and thru the years.

He leaves to cherish his memory five children, Willie (Shawanna) Smith, Sennia R. (Steven A.) Gunn-Mack, Maria Sharp, Renee Hunter, Robert (Maria) Smith; mother of his stepchildren, Eulla Lee Buford; stepchildren he raised, Robert, Milton, Henry, June, Napoleon, James, Eddie, Gilner, Magnolia, Mona, Shirley, Joann, Brenda, Alma; grandchildren, Nigel, Christopher, Candice, Dishonda, Arenica, Amber, Marketa, Shaina, Michael Jr., Whitney (Karen), Mary, Marie, Tiffany, Robert Jr., Octavia; nieces, Sharrita, Eartha McClinton; nephew, Leroy McClinton; aunts, Azalean Shockley, Callie Boxley, Marie Davis, Mandy Brown; uncles, Willie, Coleman; sister-in-law, Nora McClinton; cousin, Annese Moore; many other relatives and friends.
