William Jerome Bibbs (Maxie)

Mr. William Jerome Bibbs (Maxie) beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Age 42 years. He was born on February 13, 1980, in Saginaw, Michigan, to William Maxie Jr., and Barbara Denise (Bibbs) Perkins.


William was raised in Saginaw, Michigan. He was not affiliated with a church but was taught Bible truths, and he believed in God’s Word. The Bible states in Job 14:14-15, “If a man dies can he live again? You will call, and I will answer you.” The Bible says in Psalms 37:29, “The righteous will possess the earth and will live forever on it.” William obtained his General Education Development (GED) in 2010. He attended Delta College holding a position on the Dean’s List throughout his studies. His secular careers included working for the State of Michigan and the food industry. He enjoyed fishing, building, cooking, and traveling. William loved his children, and he had the desire to create a good life for them. William was very kind and loving and very soft-spoken. He had a genuine love of people and would go out of his way to help others.


William leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kamari Bibbs, Richmond, Virginia; four daughters, La’Shayla, Destiny, Janiyah, and Sha’Romeriona; five sons DeQuantaize ‘DJ’, William Jr., Dontray, KayVeon, and Jeremiah ‘JJ’; five grandchildren, Donnovan Bibbs, Ita'Lei Cooper, Khalil Cooper, A’Nylah Bibbs, and Ava Reid; parents, William Maxie Jr., John Perkins Sr., and Ervin Harris; grandparents, Ella M. Maxie, Saginaw, Michigan; four sisters, Tameka (Michael) Hamilton, Kiarra (Guy) Solomon, Sade Austin, and Shawtina Quinn; six brothers, Damien Boydun, John (Bria) Perkins Jr., Marcell Maxie, Johnathon Perkins, Kendrick Rogers, and Kendrell Rogers; six aunts, Deborah Green, Ollie Cox, Katherine Tolden, Kylis Maxie, Mercy Jones, and Keosha (Larenzo) Cade; five uncles, Walter (Susan) Bibbs, Michael Maxie, Jasper Bibbs, Timothy (Chouvonne) Maxie, and A’mire Perkins; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother and father-in-law, Rosalind and Alfred Canada; sister-in-law, Mia Canada, Richmond, Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Jabari Canada and Aaron Canada, Richmond, Virginia; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Keisha Mitchell, Dan Bibbs, and Lakeisha Bodiford.


William was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Perkins, Karen Perkins; son, La’Quavis Cooper; granddaughter, My'oni Johnson; sister; Kenyatta; brother, William Maxie Jr. “Little Bill;” grandparents, William Maxie, and Estella Bibbs; three aunts, Mary Jackson, Helen Bibbs, and Gloria Bibbs; and uncle, Lendell Bell.
