William L. Antwine "Twine"

Mr. William L. Antwine was born September 6, 1939 in Sherrill, Arkansas, the fourth child of eight children born to Willie Antwine, Sr. and Bessie McAfee. William's nickname was "Twine" as he was affectionately known by family and friends.

In 1962, William married Essie Webb and they moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1964. To this union six children were born. In 1964, William began working for General Motors Corporation Grey Iron and Nodular Metal Casting Plant, retiring after thirty-five years of service. William worked as a machine operator and heavy equipment operator, and was a member of UAW Local 668.

William enjoyed visiting family, dressing up, fish frys, auctions, working on small engines, BBQs, and going to the casino. He was a great storyteller and always had advice to give. He was an avid walker at the park and at the mall, and he had a loud and projecting voice. William was always willing to befriend anyone he met.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Essie Antwine; children, William, Jr., Kenneth, Rosemary (Hallis) Coleman, Dave, Brenda, Timothy (Nikia) Antwine; sisters, Lucille Antwine; Lillian Harris; twelve grandchildren, William III, Adrienne, Yolanda, Terrence, Allegra, Tiffany, Hallis Jr., Hillary, Jarich, Ashley, Tyrone, Angela; twelve great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Antwine, Sr. and Bessie McAfee; siblings, Josephine Lee, Emmanuel, Ophelia, Walter and Willie Jr.
