Mr. Willie C. Franklin, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born March 13, 1962 in Camden, Alabama to John and Annie Bell Franklin.
Willie, affectionately known as Doug, progressed through the public education system in Alabama. He was always a good, kind-hearted person who would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and old model cars.
Willie truly loved his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. He had a special affection for his sister Minnie, whom he called Mae. She raised him and they spent many days together creating endless memories. Proverbs 22:1 says “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” Willie’s name and his reputation are above reproach and his name will not be forgotten but forever etched in our hearts and memory.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Bell Franklin; four sisters, Alice, Dora, Mary Louise, Sarah; two brothers, Jim and Albert.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion, Janice Williams; four sons, Willie C. Franklin, Jr., Deon Franklin, Lamont Williams, Damon Williams; three daughters, Santorria (Cleveland) Kendrick, Kawanzaa Braddock, Kendrea Braddock; fifteen grandchildren; three sisters, Minnie Reese, Lizzie Thompson, Inell Hicks; two brothers, Billy Portis, John Franklin, Jr.; one uncle; five aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends,
