Willie J. Johnson (Lansing)

Mr. Willie J. Johnson passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 68 years. He was born on October 17, 1946 to BF and Gussie Lee Johnson in Blytheville, Arkansas the fifth of eight siblings.

Willie attended Armorel School in Arkansas. He moved to Lansing, Michigan where he worked for the Douglas Steel plant. Willie loved fishing, old cars, cooking, loved to entertain and socializing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling, dressing in his suits and ties, as well as singing, his favorite song was “When You Hear of My Homegoing”. Willie enjoyed attending church and he especially traveling to see his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, 2 daughters, Sophia Johnson, Lansing, Michigan and Debra Johnson of Arkansas; 3 sons, Willie Johnson, Jr., Winell Henry, Clifton Flourry and Isiah Johnson all of Lansing, Michigan; stepchildren, Brian Henry, Dennis Lee, Melissa, Ernest Henry and Boo; 7 grandchildren; 5 sisters, Roberta Busch, Betty Anderson, Louise Johnson, Diane Martin and Arnelle Johnson; 2 aunts, Annie Bell Davis and Luracile O’Bryan; many other relatives and friends including special friends Sivonne Anderson, Uncle AT Watson, Frank Snead, James Gidron and Richard Street.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Johnson and Eddie Johnson.
