Willie Jones (Lansing)

Mr. Willie Charles Jones passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 54 years. He was born October 16, 1966, in Tampa, Florida to parents, Samuel Howard Jones and Mildred Deloris Roberts. He was the eldest of four children, the only son, and he was doted upon.

Willie or “Uncle Rohdy” as he was affectionately called, graduated from J. W. Sexton in Lansing, Michigan. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served with distinction. After leaving the Corps, he found work with Peckham Incorporated as a maintenance worker.

Willie loved playing the drums more than any other activity. His drum kit and furbaby, Luca, a gorgeous German Shepard, were his most prized possessions.

He will be remembered for his easy-going nature and his big heart. To his family, he was the best son, brother, uncle, boyfriend in the world.

Willie leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved dog Luca; sisters, Theia Jones, Lorie Jackson (Johnson), and Monica Johnson; nieces, Teia Drayton, Antwanett Drayton, DeMonee Jones, and Mi Yanna Lay; nephews, Eryck Hall, Mychal Johnson, and Jaylahn Johnson; many other relatives and friends including special friends, not related by blood but as close as brothers Mark and Ed, and partner, Deborah (Debbie) Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Howard Jones and Mildred Deloris Roberts.
