June 2, 1959 — May 21, 2015

On Thursday, May 21, 2015 the angels of Heaven descended upon the earth to carry Willie Mae Green home to Glory. Age 55 years. She was born June 2, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan to Willis Porter and Lula Butler.
Willie Mae was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She was a 1977 graduate of St. Stephens High School. After graduating high school she completed studies at the Saginaw Business Institute (currently Davenport University). Willie Mae worked as a Teller for Great Lakes Bancorp and Team One Credit Union for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading. Willie Mae loved fun filled outings with her family. She especially loved family gatherings during holidays and special occasions. Willie Mae had a priceless sense of humor. She was a very compassionate and caring person who would help anyone in need. Willie Mae was very honorable, protective and loyal to her family, especially her son. She had a very unique and irreplaceable relationship with her mother. Her nieces and nephews were very special to her. To know her was to love her and to love her was to cherish her. Her beautiful smile and wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory one son, Simmie Green Jr.; her mother, Lula Butler; four sisters, Bertha (Don) Fabin; Belinda Butler and Mary (Les) Addison, all of Saginaw, Michigan and Shelly Mae Porter of Greenville, Mississippi; two brothers, Ralph Butler Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan and Essex Porter of Honolulu, Hawaii; seven nieces, La-toria and La-Kendra Butler, Leah and Alex Butler, Krystal Buckler, DreA and Mia Butler; nine nephews, Terry and Cedrick Almond, Marcus Baker, Brandon Johnson, Justin and Javon Fabin, Torion Porter, William and Kelvin Butler; one aunt, Beulah Almond; many cousins including her special cousins, Clara Stephens, Beverly Gaines, Janice Lacey, Willie and Marie Green; many other relatives and friends including her special friends at Team One Credit Union, the Jackson Family and Dennis Bentley.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Simmie Green Sr., fathers, Willis Porter Jr. and Ralph Butler Sr., two sisters, Vanessa Baston and Claretha Butler, three brothers, Andrew C. Porter, Willis Porter III and Shelly Porter.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Team One Credit Union, Pastor Marvin T. Smith and the Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church family.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 2, 2015 - 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
